SalemLongboarding will be hosting a GreenSkate event on the 18th of April at 12 noon. GreenSkate is an event that promotes the use of longboards as an alternative mode of transportation. We will skate around town promoting the use of longboards as a mode of transportation similar to bicycles. Stay tuned for more information and a flier that is eluding my expertise to be able to post it up. Check out Greenskate.org for more info.
The second race in the 2010 season will be held at the beautiful Mt. Tabor. This race will be an old school theme just like last year. If you weren’t there last time then here are a few things you should know:
-Must be on a conventional top mount (no wedges or drop-thoughs).
-You have to do an “old school” tuck.
-We will draw a chalk circle on your board to show you were your feet have to be.
Rip City Skate and PDX Downhill are proud to announce the 2010 Switchbacks Series. Once a month a race/event will be held on the Switchbacks Course in Washington Park. These Events will be open to all experience levels of riders, and are guaranteed to be a lot of fun for all. Entry will always be only $5. Rip City Skate will be guaranteeing a cash prize for each event totaling $175!! Champions of the Switchbacks events will receive cash: $100 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $25 for 3rd. All participants will receive 1 ticket for the raffle of all additional prizes. Additional raffle tickets will be for sale at the events. All money raised at these events will go directly back to PDX Downhill for the purpose of funding additional events here in Portland. So bring you fellow skaters, your friends, your family, and your neighbors to support you and the rest of the Portland downhill community at the 2010 Switchbacks Series!

I’m going to be frank with you guys, our website’s photo hosting sucks. Just saying.
Anyway, I created an official Flickr photostream for SLB. On this page either Aubrey or myself will post new pictures from races/events and such. There is also a Flickr group page for SLB where anybody can join and post any SLB related pictures. I strongly recommend that everybody start using Flicker now. Its really easy too. All you need to do is go to Flickr.com and login with your Yahoo ID, or create a new one, its that simple.
